Opening
To open the front trunk, ensure Model S is in Park, and
then do one of the following before pulling the hood
open:
Touch Controls > Frunk on the touchscreen.
Double-click the front trunk butto
Interior Emergency Release
An illuminated interior release button inside the front
trunk allows a person locked inside to get out.
Press the interior release button to open the front trunk,
then push up on the hood.

Removal
Recover refrigerant from the vehicle (refer to procedure)
Remove front skid plate (refer to procedure)
Remove nut (x1) securing pipe to sub-cool condenser (torque 8
Nm).
Remove nut (x1) securing pipe retaining plate to TXV (torque 12
Nm).
Sensor - Motor - Speed (Remove and Replace)
Removal
Remove the mid aero shield (refer to procedure).
Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
Remove the bolt that secures the speed sensor to the end bell
(torque 8 Nm).
Remove the speed sensor from the end b
