To open the front trunk, ensure Model S is in Park, and
then do one of the following before pulling the hood
open:
Touch Controls > Frunk on the touchscreen.
Double-click the front trunk butto
Interior Emergency Release
An illuminated interior release button inside the front
trunk allows a person locked inside to get out.
Press the interior release button to open the front trunk,
then push up on the hood.

Removal
Release the front of the exterior overhead console and pull
downward.
Caution: Do not damage the harness connections on the
inside of the overhead console.
Disconnect the 2 harness connect
Reason for Special Tools
The following special tools have been developed to facilitate removal,
dismantling and assembly of mechanical components in a cost effective and
time efficient manner. The use of special tools also helps prevent potential
damage to components.Some operations in the manual cannot be carried out
