Opening
To open the front trunk, ensure Model S is in Park, and
then do one of the following before pulling the hood
open:
Touch Controls > Frunk on the touchscreen.
Double-click the front trunk butto
Interior Emergency Release
An illuminated interior release button inside the front
trunk allows a person locked inside to get out.
Press the interior release button to open the front trunk,
then push up on the hood.

Note: Vehicles in North America are not equipped with
a SIM extender; this procedure only applies to vehicles outside
of North America.
Removal
Remove the center underhood apron (refer to procedure).
Remove the cover from fuse box 2.
Assembly - Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace)
Removal
Remove the LH underhood apron (refer to procedure).
Remove the RH underhood apron.
Remove the retainers (x2) that secure the underhood apron.
Carefully release the clips (x7) that secure the front underhood
apron to the slam panel.
