Opening the Charge Port
The charge port is located on the left side of Model S,
behind a door that is part of the rear tail light assembly.
Park Model S to ensure that the charge cable easily
reaches the charge port.

If desired, use the touchscreen to change the charge
limit and the charging current (see Charge Settings).
To charge at a public charging station, plug the
appropriate adapter into the vehicle's ch
Charging Status
Charging status displays on the instrument panel when the charge port door is
open.
Time remaining: The estimated time remaining to charge to your set
limit.

Raise and support the vehicle (refer to procedure).
Depressure the air suspension system (refer to procedure).
In the front left wheel well, remove the front portion of the
lower wheel arch liner (refer to procedure).
Release the fitting from the front left air spring (
Charge Port - 3 Phase - Manual Release of Cable
Note: This procedure describes how to manually release a
cable from the 3 phase charge port. If the vehicle is equipped with
a single phase charge port, refer to procedure 44013005 (refer to
procedure).
