Tesla Model S: Latch - Seat Back - 2nd Row Seat - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove LH pivot lock (refer to procedure)
  2. Release and remove latch cover from seat back.

    Latch - Seat Back - 2nd Row Seat - LH (Remove and Replace)

  3. Carefully release cover from seat back frame.
  4. Remove bolts (x2) securing latch to seat frame (torque 24 Nm).
  5. Remove seat latch.

Installation

Installation procedure is reversal of removal.

     Switch - Brake Light (Remove and Replace)

    Removal Remove the driver's side lower dash trim (refer to procedure). Rotate the brake light switch 45 degrees clockwise and release it from the brake pedal assembly.

    Removal Remove the underhood aprons. Peel back the carpeting at the rear of the underhood storage unit. Release the bolts (x2) (torque 8 Nm). Peel back the carpeting at the front of the underhood storage unit.

     Liftgate Glass (Remove)

    Warning: To avoid personal injury, wear cut-resistant gloves when performing this operation. Note: Use Dow Betaseal Express or an equivalent fast-curing glass adhesive to perform this procedure. Special tool recommended for this procedure: Supplier
