Tesla Model S: LF Antenna - RH - A Post (Remove and Replace)

Warning: If the vehicle has air suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and supporting the vehicle.

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle (refer to procedure)
  2. Remove RH front wheel arch liner for access (refer to procedure)
  3. Locate LF antenna and disconnect harness connector.
  4. Remove screws (x2) securing LF antenna to body (torque 8 Nm).

  5. Remove LF antenna from vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

    Removal Remove the instrument panel side cover assembly (refer to procedure). Remove the screws (x2) that secure the antenna to the side cover (torque 1 Nm).

    Removal Remove the rear seat cushion frame (refer to procedure). Remove the rear sill trim panel (refer to procedure). Release the carpet and sound insulation from the rear seat mounting cross member to gain access to the latch manual release lever and cable.

    Installation Use a scraping tool to remove the majority of the adhesive from the body, leaving a smooth layer of the original adhesive approximately 1 mm thick or less. Remove all existing butyl patches and replace them with new ones
