Tesla Model S: Trim - Touch Screen Surround (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove the MCU/touch screen (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the screws (x6) that secure the touch screen surround (torque 4 Nm).
  3. Cut the cable tie that secures the Bluetooth antenna to the edge clip on the bezel.
  4. Remove the bezel from the MCU.
  5. Remove the screws that secure the switches to the bezel (1 Nm).
  6. Release the trim from both switches.

    Caution: Take care not to damage component(s).

Installation
  • Replace the cable tie that secures the Bluetooth antenna to the edge clip on the bezel.

    Note: The desiccant bag in the receiver dryer is a serviceable item and must be replaced every 2 years, whenever the system is opened to ambient air for an extended time, or when an A/C system leak has been fixed. Note: The dessicant is located in the RH condenser. Removal

     Striker - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

    Removal Open liftgate. Remove liftgate striker cover. Remove bolts (x2) securing striker to body (torque 10 Nm). Remove striker from vehicle.
