Tesla Model S: Trim - Touch Screen Surround (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove the MCU/touch screen (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the screws (x6) that secure the touch screen surround (torque 4 Nm).
  3. Cut the cable tie that secures the Bluetooth antenna to the edge clip on the bezel.
  4. Remove the bezel from the MCU.
  5. Remove the screws that secure the switches to the bezel (1 Nm).
  6. Release the trim from both switches.

    Caution: Take care not to damage component(s).

Installation
  • Replace the cable tie that secures the Bluetooth antenna to the edge clip on the bezel.

    Removal Remove the driver side lower dash trim (refer to procedure). Remove the lower binnacle cover. Remove the 2 screws beneath the lower binnacle cover that secure the IP top pad to the IP carrier.

     Do Not Transport with Wheels On the Ground

    The front and rear motors in Model S generate power when the wheels spin. Always transport Model S with all four tires off the ground. Ensure that the tires are unable to spin at any time during transport. WARNING: NEVER TRANSPORT YOUR VEHICLE WITH THE TIRES IN A POSITION WHERE THEY CAN SPI
