Tesla Model S: Applique - Fascia - Front - 2nd Generation (Remove and Replace)

Tesla Model S (2012-2026) Service Manual / Body / Applique - Fascia - Front - 2nd Generation (Remove and Replace)

Note: This procedure describes how to remove and replace the 2nd generation front fascia applique. If the vehicle is equipped with a 1st generation front fascia applique, refer to procedure 10011402 (refer to procedure).

Removal

  1. Remove the front fascia applique (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the parking sensors from the applique.
  3. Remove the bright trim from the applique.

Caution: Take care not to damage component(s).

Installation
  1. Transfer the parking sensors and bright trim to the new applique.
  2. Install a new Tesla "T" badge.
  3. Reinstall the applique.

    Installation Clean and inspect the wheel and valve hole. Remove any dirt, burrs, or swarf. Install the valve retaining screw to the wheel sensor. Note: Ensure that the square faces are parallel with the slot in the sensor.

     Switches - Steering Wheel (Remove and Replace)

    Removal Remove the driver's air bag Air bag - Driver's (Remove and Replace). Place the driver's air bag assembly on a soft clean surface with the backside of the bezel facing up. Unplug the harness connectors (x2) from the back of 1 of the switches.
