Tesla Model S: Motor - Sunroof - RH (Remove and Replace)

Tesla Model S (2012-2026) Service Manual / Roof / Motor - Sunroof - RH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove glove box assembly (refer to procedure)
  2. Disconnect sunroof motor harness connector.
  3. Remove screws (x3) securing sunroof motor to 'A' post (torque 5 Nm).

  4. Release sunroof motor assembly and disconnect module from drive tube.
  5. Remove sunroof motor module.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

     Powering Off

    When you finish driving, simply exit the vehicle. When you leave Model S with your phone key and key fob, it powers off automatically, turning off the instrument panel and touchscreen. Model S also powers off automatically after being in Park for 30 minutes, even if you are sitting in the drive
