Tesla Model S: Motor - Sunroof - RH (Remove and Replace)

Tesla Model S (2012-2025) Service Manual / Roof / Motor - Sunroof - RH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove glove box assembly (refer to procedure)
  2. Disconnect sunroof motor harness connector.
  3. Remove screws (x3) securing sunroof motor to 'A' post (torque 5 Nm).

  4. Release sunroof motor assembly and disconnect module from drive tube.
  5. Remove sunroof motor module.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

    Removal Remove the RH instrument panel side cover assembly (refer to procedure). Note: LH panel is illustrated; RH removal is identical. Using a suitable tool, release the clips (x13) that secure the trim to the dash substrate.

    Removal Move the front seats to their rearmost positions to allow for additional access. Unplug the phone adaptor cable from the USB connector, if installed. Pull the two panels off from the sides of the center
