Removal
Remove the rear center underhood apron (refer to procedure).
Release the retainers (x2) that secure the particulate filter
cover.
Note: Components have been re
HVAC Assembly (Remove and Replace)
Removal
Remove cross car beam (refer to procedure).
Recover refrigerant from AC system (refer to procedure).
Disconnect AC connection to HVAC, discard 'O' rings (torque 22
Nm).
Actuator - Inlet (Remove and Replace)
Removal
Remove glove box assembly (refer to procedure)
Disconnect actuator harness connector.
Remove screws (x3) securing recirculation actuator to HVAC
assembly (torque 1 Nm).

Removal
Remove LH wrapped panel trim (refer to procedure)
Remove mat from footwell.
Release clips (x8) and adhesive pad (x1) securing closeout
extension to console.
Caution: Take care not to damage component(s).
Caution: Replace any broken clips.

Model S has one of the most sophisticated battery
systems in the world. The most important way to
preserve the high voltage Battery is to LEAVE YOUR
VEHICLE PLUGGED IN when you are not using it. This is
particularly important if you are not planning to drive
Model S for several weeks.
